Searching for the best home loan option available?

I am a salaried person of 36 years age with 3.5 pa income.

I want to take a home loan of Rs 15 lacs for a period of 20years. At present market rates are hovering between 10.75% (SBI) to 11.25% (HDFC, UTI Bank etc) on an avg. However Citibank website says 9%. Now my questions are:

1. Which bank should I deal with and which not

2. Is loan possible with interest rates 2% less than mkt avg,

3. What sort of a home loan should I take with the fact that we expect the interest rates to go down in future.

Why was I denied opening Savings account?

I%26#039;ve just moved to the US with my husband who is a US Citizen, I have a green card and just got my social security number. My husband has a bank account of his own... but we decided to open up a joint Savings account online with Bank of America and they said that I was denied. WHY?

what does this mean? how can a bank deny a Savings account?? does this have something to do with my credit? I don%26#039;t have any credit here yet because I haven%26#039;t been able to work but now I need a bank account for a job.

How can I open up a bank account? and would this denial have a negative impact on my credit rating now?

THank you

I don%26#039;t think it has to do with your credit if it is a savings account. I think it has to do with your citizenship status. I agree just ask the bank maybe the online application didn%26#039;t understand your situation.

The denial will not hurt your credit. If there is a local credit union in your area go there and open an account.

Good luck.

The current market status...Oil, Housing, and Recession?

Ok, I%26#039;m no expert when it comes to business but couldn%26#039;t the market possibly be rescued with this simple plan? If the government would cap gasoline prices (since oil companies report record profits all the time) near two dollars, then there would suddenly be more money in the market. And as far as housing goes, the problem with the sub-prime mortgages was that the interest rate jumped from a low rate to a high rate so people could no longer afford them. Interest is all money in the banks pockets anyhow, and foreclosure costs them money, so couldn%26#039;t they just lower their interest rates again to the point where people could afford to make their payments. Not only would people be able to keep their houses, but banks wouldn%26#039;t be foreclosing (causing them to lose money) and would be making a small amount, just not as large as they would like. I know this is very brief, but wouldn%26#039;t a well-worked plan like this help the economy significantly?

Putting a price cap on fuel will ultimately lead to shortages...

Most people would rather fuel at the %26quot;fair market price%26quot;.. than the alternative with no fuel at a capped price...

================================

By trying to cap interest rates at any rate.. why should any invester loan any money?

Meaning if I have money to loan.. shouldn%26#039;t I charge as much interest as the fair market will allow?

When the market caps at 1%-2% I should just buy gold and play the waiting game.

Does this help any?

The current market status...Oil, Housing, and Recession?

Capping oil prices either means the government would have to pay oil companies the difference between the real price and capped price, or risk oil companies selling their oil to other countries where they are paid the full amount they charge.

The problem with sub-prime mortgages was not the interest rates increased, but rather that banks lent money to people who were security risks. If the government bails the banks out by further cutting interest rates, then they are sending a message to all business%26#039; that it is OK to take major risks because your government will always save you. This is not a good message to send unless you want more crises in the future.

I bought a house, and now foreclosure is an option what to do??

I bought a house about 7 months ago with my then fiance. She let after only 1 month and the payment was based on both of our incomes. Now my savings have dwindled to nothing and I have been told I will be layed off in 2 months if I don%26#039;t take their job offer in another city. I have had my house for sale for 4 months and no %26quot;bites%26quot; at all and now I am wondering what would happen if I stop paying and let the bank foreclose? What are my possible options -I cannot afford to keep the house and would like to get out(my company has offered me another job in another city -with a paycut).I have an FHA loan and my ex-fiance is also on the mortgage- what would I be liable for if I just stop paying?I have 2 months left here-should I live %26quot;rent free%26quot; for those 2 months and build my savings back up a little and let the bank figure out I am not going to pay ? Or should I inform the bank of my intentions? Also what effect on my credit rating will a foreclosure have?I have had excellent credit and have

A foreclosure would be bad for your credit rating. It would take years to recover.

The danger of foreclosure: as I understand it, if the house cannot sell for what you owe on it, the bank comes after you for the difference.

Options: rent the house, to pay the mortgage, and move to the other city with your company.

You say you bought it %26quot;with your fiance%26quot; based on both incomes. Are you co-borrowers on the mortgage and co-owners on the deed? If so, she is also responsible for the debt.|||I would avoid the foreclosure if possible. Depending on your area, I might be able to recommend someone that can help you. But you should decide ASAP, the longer you wait the more damage you%26#039;ll do to your credit (and your ex%26#039;s).

Do you think interest rates are going to drop?

I am thinking to refinance a 30 yrs fixed mortgage. I am paying 5.95% right now. My credit is excellent and I am in NJ.

Do you think rates are likely to drop in the near future? .

I know that the fed interest cuts are only designed to help the banks (which doesn%26#039;t make any sense!). So I guess rates will stay high for a while and the credit crunch will worsen?

Do you think interest rates are going to drop?horses for loan

Patience grasshopper. My bet is that banks are holding rates up to make a larger spread to offset losses. I think the government will force rates down to help jumpstart a positive real estate market.

Do you think interest rates are going to drop? loan

You should not refinance unless you will save more than 1% interest. Otherwise you end up paying more in fees. 5.95% is good I would not do it.|||Watch the 10 year T-Bill. This is what mortgage companies use to determine rates.

No, I believe rates have hit bottom and if you have been paying attention to the news lately you know the US is in a financial mess. The fed is running out of leavers to pull and oil/gas keep going higher while the dollar continues to dive.

Money is incredibly cheap but very difficult to get right now. We are in deep deep trouble financially.
